Hi everyone!
I'm 43 yrs old, divorced mother of 3 girls (22, 18, 17) and just started riding this year. My SO has 2 kids (girl 17 and boy 19). I became a grandmother in June. My SO teaches the Maine Motorcycle Safety course and I took the course. He never expected me to like riding as much as I do. He would prefer me on the back of his bike most of the time, but it happens rarely. He says he created a monster. I am a Payment Specialist for the State of Maine (TANF, Food Stamps, Medicaid, Emergency Assistance). I also work part-time for LL Bean. My first bike was a Yamaha 250 Excciter. I practiced on that for one month to build up my confidence and sold it for what I paid for it. I fell in love with the Savage and have found it's the perfect bike for me. I am customizing it. I prefer a single seat and since I don't want the responsibility of a passenger, I am changing the Savage to a single seat. I just picked up fender rails for a 1997 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500A and looks like they will work out. Need to take the sissy bar off when I take the passenger seat off. I love to read the stories on the forum. Keep them coming. Wish I had enough experience to be able to write some of my own. I've logged about 2500 miles so far between both bikes. I have learned alot about the bike from reading the forum. White spacer, backfiring, 5th gear, etc. My SO rides a Honda Shadow 1100, owns a Kawasaki, Suzuki, GPZ 550. I don't think he'll say anything if I decide to buy another bike and keep my Savage too! My 17 year old and his 19 year old are in college. My 17 year old is the only one that lives with us now. Looking forward to that "empty nest" soon. Our dream is to buy a 5th wheel, put the bikes in and travel around the US. Found one that has a hydraulic lift in the rear and just ride the bikes in, close the lift and take off. Well, I guess that's enough about me!
